Health Systems 20/20 Awarded Certificate of Appreciation in Yemen

Jan 6 2010

In recognition of work Health Systems 20/20 and predecessor project, Partners for Health Reformplus/Yemen PHR (YPHR) have carried out in Amran, Yemen, since 2004, the Amran governorate and health office awarded the project a certificate of appreciation on November 16, 2009. Both USAID and YPHR were applauded for their on-going efforts to strengthen Amran's health system.

Amran is one of the most vulnerable and underserved regions in the country. Located in Northern Yemen, it is one of the five priority governorates for USAID programs. In Amran and elsewhere, YPHR has worked to improve health information systems and the utilization of data for planning and management decision-making, strengthen routine immunization efforts, heighten awareness of health issues and behaviors at the community level, and increase understanding of health financing and resource allocation.
